Dubai International Capital to invest in Liverpool

In Anfield, official sources have confirmed that Liverpool have opened talks with a Dubai based consortium over a potential takeover of the Merseyside club.

As we know, DIC is the international investment arm of Dubai Holding, and they have been given the green light to begin negotiations over a £450 million buyout of the Reds, who are historically the most successful club in English football.

A club statement announced: "Liverpool Football Club confirms it has entered into a period of exclusive negotiations with Dubai International Capital about a possible investment in the club."

In fact, no deal has yet been agreed and the detail of any transaction, which may or may not include a formal offer by DIC for Liverpool Football Club, is still to be confirmed."

It's important to say that Liverpool would be joining an ever-growing list of Premiership clubs to be taken over by foreign investors.
